Job summary

NHS Ayrshire & Arran is seeking a Domestic Assistant to join the Hotel Services team at Ailsa Hospital. The role offers permanent, part-time hours with two posts available (20 hours weekly).

You will support Clinical Services with a broad range of domestic duties and maintain high standards of cleanliness according to NHS Scotland guidelines. Full training will be provided, and the successful candidate will work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications

  • Experience with industrial cleaning equipment or working within a healthcare setting would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be given.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team and good communication skills are essential.

Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Domestic Assistant within our Hotel Services based at Ailsa Hospital. Posts are offered on a permanent basis.


Hours

Post 1 – 20 hours Monday - Friday 14.15 - 18.15


Post 2 – 20 hours flexi to cover day shift or back shift Monday - Friday as required

Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required For This Post

Required to undertake departmental job training including the operation of equipment and safe use of cleaning materials which allows flexibility within all areas of Domestic Services and is also required to be proficient in and undertake training in the following

  • Organisational Policies

  • Caldicott Guidelines (confidentiality Required to attend Corporate Induction including completion of Mandatory Learn Pro Modules.

Required to undertake departmental job training including the operation of equipment and safe use of cleaning materials which allows flexibility within all areas of Domestic Services and is also required to be proficient in and undertake training in the following:



  • Safe Systems of Work/Work Schedules

  • Departmental Risk Assessments (COSHH, General, Moving and Handling)

  • Codes of Practice/Infection Control Guidelines

  • Correct and economical use of materials and equipment))

  • Use of PPE

  • Waste Management

  • Linen Bagging Policy

  • Security Procedures

  • Datix

  • Job Shadowing (usually first week)
