Job summary

The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Domain Lead (LIMS) for Microbiology/Virology to design, test and implement Clinisys LIMS as part of a digital transformation. A 24-month fixed-term post with secondment opportunities supports innovative pathology services across the Trust.

The role requires strong NHS Microbiology/Virology process experience, knowledge of pathology digital systems and project leadership in change and digital programmes.

Qualifications

• Masters level education or equivalent experience (IT/Health/etc).
• IBMS Approved BSc (Hons) or equivalent.
• MSc in Biomedical Science or Fellowship/knowledge.
• HCPC registration.
• PRINCE 2 Practitioner or equivalent in leading projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, test, implement and integrate the Clinisys LIMS and digital solutions.
• Coordinate technical and scientific oversight of the proposed design.
• Ensure quality standards and clinical needs are met to improve efficiency and patient care.
• Support regional collaboration and staff training during LIMS implementation.
