Job description

VANRATH is assisting with the recruitment of a Document Checking Team Lead for a leading global law firm operating in over thirty countries.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to progress their career and expand their knowledge within a global organization that values its staff.

This role is Hybrid, based in Belfast City Centre with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, with a 1-hour lunch break. It is a permanent position.

Salary: Fully Negotiable + Progression Opportunities & Leading Benefits from a Global Firm.

Key Tasks:

  • Oversee the daily operations and people management of the Document Checking department, ensuring high service levels.
  • Conduct feedback sessions, meetings, and manage staff training and development plans.
  • Monitor team performance, conduct regular check-ins, and implement management procedures as needed.
  • Identify process improvements and enhance work efficiency.
  • Maintain high-quality service, coordinate with colleagues, clients, and third-party suppliers for timely delivery.
  • Address service issues, propose solutions, and escalate when necessary.
  • Provide cover for other roles to ensure service continuity.
  • Collaborate with Document Experts for technical guidance.
  • Coordinate shift handovers and oversee larger projects within Document Services.
  • Develop technical knowledge through training and shadowing.

  • Understands what exceptional client service entails.
  • Has a successful record in people management within a professional services environment.
  • Can build strong relationships and communicate effectively across all levels.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, preferably 24/7.
  • Possesses strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Committed to continuous improvement and innovation.
