Job summary

Delkia is seeking a Document Controller to support quality and project delivery teams by ensuring documentation is organised, stored, controlled and distributed to client and internal standards.

You will manage project documentation through its lifecycle, maintain Lifetime Records, implement control procedures, perform quality checks, and coordinate document transmittals to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Experience in document control within a regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of document control principles across project lifecycles.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail in reviewing documents.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain internal and client document control procedures.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure standards are met.

  • Manage distribution of project documentation and issue transmittals to stakeholders.

Job description

Location: Haydock, St Helens (minimum of 2 days per week in the office)

Cockermouth, Cumbria (minimum of 2 days per week in the office)

Job type: Permanent

Contracted hours: Full time – 36hrs per week (we offer an option to condense full time hours into 4 days Monday – Thursday)

About the Role

As a Document Controller, you will support Delkia’s quality and project delivery teams by ensuring documentation is accurately organised, maintained, stored, controlled, and distributed in line with organisational and client standards.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the creation, review, tracking, and management of project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Leading the completion and upkeep of project Lifetime Records (LTRs), ensuring records are accurate, complete, and maintained in line with project requirements.
  • Implementing and maintaining internal and client document control procedures and processes.
  • Performing quality checks on documentation to ensure it meets internal and client standards, specifications, and requirements.
  • Saving, retrieving, filing, and archiving documentation and records in accordance with established processes.
  • Managing the distribution of project documentation, including preparing and issuing transmittals to relevant stakeholders.
About You

What you’ll bring:

  • Previous experience working in a Document Controller or similar document control role, ideally within an engineering, nuclear, defence, or other regulated environment.
  • A good understanding of document control principles and practices, with experience managing documentation throughout a project lifecycle.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a high level of accuracy when reviewing and managing documentation.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Experience using SharePoint or other document management systems would be beneficial.
  • GCSE English at Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent.
