Job Description:

Maternity Cover: Fixed term from 9 June 2025 until 10 April 2026 or until the return of the postholder, whichever is sooner. This would make an excellent secondment opportunity.

This post is available full time, but we may consider applicants who wish to apply on a part-time basis, to work across 4 or 5 days per week.

This varied role is one of two Doctoral College Manager positions within the team. You will support Doctoral Researchers and colleagues across our academic schools throughout the entire student life cycle, from admission through to graduation. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills in administering doctoral researcher activity. You will play a vital role in overseeing the Doctoral College Office’s operational activities and develop expertise in a range of other areas, including a broad portfolio of student-related processes, staff management, and student casework.

We are looking for a proactive and organised team player, with strong analytical skills and an eye for detail. If you have excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and can demonstrably plan and deliver a varied workload, we want to hear from you.

This is a critical role within the Doctoral College and supports a wide variety of stakeholders. Your contribution has the ability to impact large numbers of students and staff across the University. We encourage you to join our collaborative and supportive team environment, where you can develop and learn about the University’s diverse doctoral researcher activity.

The post will be mostly based on Loughborough campus, but with some opportunities for home working, as business needs allow, in line with the University’s dynamic working arrangements.

At Loughborough University, we are committed to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) and making the University a place where both students and staff feel valued and can realise their full potential. You will therefore appreciate the importance of EDI and be committed to its advancement.

Academic Registry makes a vital contribution to the University’s continued success, and the University is ranked in the top 10 of all major national league tables. We offer flexible working to colleagues where possible and understand the importance of a good work/life balance. You will be mostly based on campus, but with some opportunities for home working, as business needs allow, in line with the University’s dynamic working arrangements. In addition to working on our stunning East Midlands campus, we offer an excellent range of benefits and pride ourselves on being family-friendly.

For any informal enquiries regarding the post, please contact the line manager, Zoe Stockdale, Assistant Registrar (Quality and Experience), via email.
