Job summary

myDNA is seeking an Laboratory Accessioning & Extraction Technician to join the Glasgow-based team. You will manage sample intake, accession into LIMS, perform automated/manual DNA extractions, and support downstream workflows for diagnostic pipelines.

You will operate liquid handling robotics, ensure ISO 15189/UKAS compliance, and maintain inventory and lab upkeep while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet throughput goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Biological Science, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
• Must have UK Permanent Residency or valid UK Right to Work.
• Hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques including DNA extraction and PCR setup.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and log incoming laboratory samples into LIMS.
• Execute automated and manual DNA extraction procedures.
• Program and operate automated liquid handling systems and other lab instrumentation.
• Perform DNA quantification and quality assessment of nucleic acids.
• Maintain organized storage and digital tracking of samples.
• Assist in troubleshooting issues with equipment or workflows.
• Maintain lab safety, PPE, and regulatory compliance.
