Job summary

Novogene Europe is seeking a Laboratory Sample Technician to support sample reception, registration, storage, and movement in a UK lab. You will follow SOPs, coordinate with multiple departments, and ensure data accuracy in LIMS while maintaining high hygiene and safety standards.

The role requires English and Chinese communication, strong time management, and the ability to work both independently and within a team. A biology-related degree and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or above in Biology, Food Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
• Ability to independently operate the sample collection, sample return, sample forwarding, sample destruction, sample return process, etc.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Highly motivated, flexible, and willing to support team objectives.
• Strong time‑management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Sample Reception: receive customer samples according to SOP and manage various sample types.
• Sample Registration and Storage: record details online (LIMS), label, and store per requirements.
• Sample Collection and Return: follow SOP, coordinate with departments, track movements.
• Handle customs and shipping documentation for outbound UK lab shipments.
• Communicate any sample damage or abnormal situations to the team and take corrective actions.
• Regularly inspect and maintain equipment related to sample management.
• Maintain sample records and files to ensure data accuracy.
• Manage consumables and supplies for sample processing to ensure availability.
• Maintain effective communication with lab team, partners, and customers.
• Participate in training and quality control to ensure SOP compliance.
• Ensure environment meets hygiene and safety standards and implement safety measures.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
