Job description

District Operations Manager

Field Based (M4 Corridor)

We have an exciting new opportunity for a District Operations Manager to join our team here in the UK. The right candidate will drive company sales and achieve profit targets for our Decorating Centres within the District. You will motivate teams, through Store Operations Managers, to increase sales while maintaining high standards of customer service, presentation, and operational and financial control within the Decorating Centres.

Key Responsibilities

1. Achieve District Sales and Profit targets to ensure Company profitability.
2. Manage proactively through Store Operations Managers (SOMs) to drive new growth opportunities, re-engage lapsed customers, and maximize share of wallet.
3. Develop sales throughout the district via off-site customer visits, cold calling, and building relationships, focusing on professional decorators and other businesses using decorative coatings, while supporting Trade Direct customers as needed.
4. Embed the Company’s Vision, objectives, and strategy through regular district meetings and engagement with SOMs and sales staff within Decorating Centres.
5. Devise and implement strategies within the Centres to meet the Company’s commercial objectives.
6. Develop, lead, and motivate the team, primarily focusing on SOMs managing their own teams.
7. Coordinate with the Regional Controller and Commercial Support Manager to manage resources within budget to ensure profitability.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Good knowledge of Company and competitors’ products.
• Effective communication skills with staff, customers, reps, and colleagues.
• Understanding of Company EPOS and IT systems.
• Strong leadership, motivational, and interpersonal skills.
• Full UK Driving License (held for at least one year).
• Ability to work under pressure and independently.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety, Administration, and Security procedures.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
