Job summary

Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced District Nurse Lead to oversee routine team activity, coordinate workloads, and sustain high clinical standards.

The role includes leading service development, mentoring students and junior staff, and participating in organisational changes within an integrated neighbourhood framework. Applicants should hold a Community Specialist Practitioner DN pathway and non‑medical prescribing registration.

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse with current practice.
• Community Specialist Practitioner qualification (DN Pathway).
• Registered non‑medical prescriber.
• Proven leadership and organisational skills in clinical teams.
• Experience of audit, governance and implementing evidence‑based changes.
• Ability to mentor and develop junior staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Manage the routine activities of the District Nursing Team.
• Organise team workload and staff rotas.
• Exercise leadership to maintain high clinical standards of care.
• Meet service demand and adapt to organisational changes.
• Work within an integrated neighbourhood and contribute to service developments.
• Assess and develop students and junior staff with learning programmes.
• Act as mentor to students and junior staff.
