Job summary

Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust in East Dorset invites applications for a Clinical Lead within the District Nursing service. The role combines day-to-day clinical management of nursing staff with service planning and representation at Hub and Primary Care network forums.

Full-time 37.5 hours per week, with weekend work possible between 8am and 6pm. The post requires a Registered Nurse with District Nursing Specialist Practice Qualification (DN SPQ) and is likely to suit someone

Qualifications

Registered nurse with District Nursing experience at Band 6 level.
DN SPQ is required.
Working towards an MA or MSc or demonstrable extensive experience in the relevant specialty.

Responsibilities

Clinical leadership and management of three District Nursing teams in East Dorset
Day-to-day management of clinical teams, Specialist Practitioners and other multi-disciplinary staff
Clinical responsibility for nursing staff, reporting to the Locality Manager
Ensuring delivery of high-quality, person-centred integrated care that protects safety, privacy and dignity
Acting as champion for clinical standards and continuous improvement in the service user experience
Ensuring delivery of up-to-date, evidence-based practice
Contributing to the planning and design of services in line with Trust, locality and government objectives
Identifying and responding to short- and long-term developments and demands
Providing the interface between District Nursing, the Hub and the Primary Care network
Attending relevant forums to represent the service and building strong relationships
Involvement in service developments
Working as part of a leadership team and a peer network across Dorset
