Job summary

IronmongeryDirect is seeking a Warehouse Operative to support the smooth running of our distribution centre. You will accurately pick and pack goods, safely load/unload vehicles, and verify deliveries to ensure accuracy and KPI targets are met.

The role requires physical fitness, manual handling capability, and the ability to work flexibly in shifts. Candidates with forklift experience and familiarity with warehouse software are preferred.

• Basic literacy and numeracy skills to complete documentation accurately.

• Desirable: experience in a similar environment.
• Desirable: forklift certification.
• Desirable: familiarity with warehouse management systems or inventory software.

Responsibilities

• Accurately pick and pack goods to prepare orders for customer distribution.

• Book in items promptly, meeting agreed KPIs.
• Store goods correctly in designated locations within the Distribution Centre.
• Carry out rework activities as required.
• Maintain a clean and organised workspace at all times.
• Follow best practices to prioritise staff safety in all tasks.
• Keep external areas (loading bays, skips, etc.) clean and tidy consistently.
• Ensure housekeeping standards are upheld throughout the facility.
