Job summary

CleanTech Talent is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, build and support IP-based communication systems across multiple regions and platforms. The role covers Linux networking, routing, observability and systems integration.

You will work with RF, security, embedded and infrastructure teams to deliver high-performance, resilient networks and robust upper-layer logic. The position offers hybrid work with onsite Scotland and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing and implementing communication networks.
• Strong understanding of IP networking (TCP/UDP), tunnelling and secure data handling.
• Solid grounding in network/transport protocols.
• Proactive communication style, collaborative mindset and adaptability.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure and maintain a distributed IP-based network across multiple regions and systems (Linux-based).
• Oversee routing, VPNs, dynamic networking, observability, DNS, QoS and security.
• Develop upper-layer communication logic using robust approaches (e.g., TUN/TAP) and open-source tooling.
• Build monitoring tools for routing behaviour, packet metrics, throughput, latency and traffic flows.
• Drive continuous improvement across performance, testing, debugging and system understanding.
• Contribute to QoS, traffic handling, resource utilisation and multi-tenant environments.
• Work cross-functionally with RF, security, embedded and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth integration.
