The role blends hands-on technical work with leadership, guiding a 40+ engineer organization and shaping architectural choices across multiple projects.

You will recruit and mentor engineers, drive delivery, foster best practices, and collaborate with product and QA teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electronics and communications engineering, computer engineering or computer science.
• 10+ years in software development experience in networking or related tech.
• 5+ years in technical leadership or people management.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and managerial guidance to a team of 10 software engineers
• Recruit and mentor staff to grow the team’s capability
• Review product requirements and provide development effort estimates and risk assessments to senior management
• Influence architectural decisions, design/code reviews, test plans and technology strategy
• Manage multiple concurrent projects to deliver committed features on time
• Foster an environment of continuous improvement in software engineering practices and product quality in terms of performance, scalability, availability and flexibility
• Work closely with other software development teams as well as product line management, quality assurance (QA), and technical support.

What you’ll do:

The Senior Software Engineering Manager Roles & Responsibilities include:

What you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s degree in electronics and communications engineering, computer engineering or computer science and 10 years of experience in a software development role, in the Networking domain or similar adjacent technology. Five years+ of experience in a technical leadership role and/or people management role.

The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge:

• Familiar with Linux development environment. They use C, Linux, Python


• Knowledge of network routers/switches or routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, etc)


• Experience in open-source software development


• Knowledge with cloud native application development


• Knowledge with distributed systems and Python based micro-services.
