The Opportunity

We're working with a busy, boutique independent practice near Harrow looking for an experienced Dispensing Optician or Optical Assistant to join their small, close-knit team on a long-term basis. This isn't a large multiple where you're simply another member of a big team. The practice has built a loyal patient base, is currently booked around two weeks in advance and prides itself on providing a personal, high-quality service.

The Practice

This is a modern, well-run independent with a boutique feel and a strong focus on quality eyewear and patient care.

The Team

You’ll be joining a small, friendly team where everyone works closely together and there is plenty of opportunity to get involved.

The atmosphere is professional but relaxed, and they're looking for someone who will become a genuine long-term part of the practice rather than simply filling a position.

The team also enjoys social events together, including their annual Christmas celebrations.

This will be a varied position and could suit either an experienced Dispensing Optician or Optical Assistant.

Day to day, you’ll be involved with:

• \" Dispensing across a range of lenses and frames

• \" Supporting patients throughout their journey

Previous lab experience would be a real advantage but isn't essential.

You’ll ideally be:

• \" An experienced Dispensing Optician or Optical Assistant
• \" Confident with dispensing and adjustments
• \" Friendly, bubbly and personable
• \" Professional and presentable
• \" Comfortable working within a small independent team
• \" Someone who genuinely enjoys getting to know their patients
• \" Looking for a stable, long-term opportunity

They would also consider a Trainee Dispensing Optician or Pre-Reg DO with the right experience and attitude.

Salary & Benefits

Dispensing Optician - up to 36,000
Optical Assistant - up to 29,000

You’ll also receive:

Why Join?

If you enjoy independent optics and want somewhere you can really become part of the practice, this offers a great balance.

You’ll have premium products, a loyal patient base, modern equipment, a busy but well-run clinic and plenty of variety in your day, all within a small team where your contribution will genuinely be valued.
