Inspired Selections Group is assisting a Coventry-based optical practice in finding a commercially minded Dispensing Optician. You will build relationships with customers, spot opportunities, convert walk-in enquiries and drive store performance.

You must be a GOC registered Dispensing Optician with at least three years post-qualification experience. The role offers £34,000–£36,000 basic salary, a bonus, pension, ABDO fees paid after 12 months, and a pathway towards potential store ownership.

Are You a Commercially Minded Dispensing Optician?

This is a little different from your standard Dispensing Optician vacancy.

We’re working with an established high‑street optical practice in Coventry looking for an experienced, ambitious DO who wants to have a genuine impact on the business.

They don’t simply want somebody to dispense and go home at the end of the day. They’re looking for someone that can build relationships with customers, spot opportunities, convert walk‑in enquiries and help drive the performance of the practice.

For the right person, there is even the potential to spend the next 12 months developing towards the opportunity of running and potentially owning their own store.

What They’re Looking For

You’ll need to be a GOC-registered Dispensing Optician, ideally with at least three years’ post‑qualification experience.

More importantly, you’ll be:

• Commercially aware, sales-focused and confident converting walk‑in enquiries
• Hungry, driven and interested in progressing your career
• Comfortable taking responsibility when the manager isn’t available
• Personable and able to build genuine relationships with customers
• Confident making suggestions and bringing new ideas to the business
• Able to think independently rather than waiting to be told what to do

The practice has a personal approach to optics. They want someone who can have a laugh with customers, get to know them and create the sort of relationships that keep people coming back.

Salary & Benefits

£34,000–£36,000 basic salary, depending on experience, plus:

Opening hours are 9:00am–5:40pm during the week and 9:00am–5:00pm on Saturdays.
