About the opportunity

As a Dispenser working within one of our stores, you will be a key member of our pharmacy team, supporting the pharmacist and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy and healthcare services.

In the healthcare department, you will build strong relationships with patients by listening and understanding their needs. Your duties include greeting customers, dispensing prescriptions, ensuring the safe sale of medicines, and providing advice to support patients in making informed health decisions. Your work will make a difference every day.

Key responsibilities:
  • Dispensing prescriptions safely, including ordering medicines, labelling, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals to manage and deliver pharmacy services.
  • Providing care and advice about medicines and referring queries to the Pharmacist as needed.
  • Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to support safe and legal dispensing.
  • Staying updated with new innovations and complying with operational processes.
  • Supporting patients in managing their prescriptions and medicines effectively to promote adherence and reduce waste.
  • Working with new technologies to improve dispensing processes, enhancing patient safety and freeing up time for patient interaction.

You will receive regular training to develop your healthcare knowledge and have opportunities for career advancement, including training as a Pharmacy Technician or in store leadership.

What you’ll need to have:
  • Completed the Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 (or equivalent).
It would be great if you also have:
  • Experience working in community pharmacy.
