Job Title: Dispatch Supervisor
Location: Leicester, LE3
Salary: £16 per hour + company benefits
Hours: Standard 7:00am - 3:30pm (flexibility required)

They have built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, bespoke solutions to clients across multiple sectors. With a fast-paced and forward-thinking environment, they are now looking to strengthen their operations team with an experienced Dispatch Supervisor.

The Role

As Dispatch Supervisor, you will take full responsibility for the coordination and execution of the delivery operation. This is a hands-on role requiring excellent organisational skills, strong leadership qualities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You\'ll be supervising a small team, ensuring goods are dispatched efficiently and to the highest standard, while also overseeing vehicle management and maintaining strong relationships with customers.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee daily dispatch operations, including loading, scheduling, and delivery planning.
  • Supervise and support Goods In staff to ensure smooth warehouse flow.
  • Conduct effective route planning to maximise efficiency and meet strict deadlines.
  • Oversee fleet management, including compliance, servicing, and maintenance.
  • Carry out HR responsibilities where required, including wages, annual reviews, and performance management.
  • Maintain accurate documentation using Excel and Outlook.
  • Engage with customers both face-to-face and over the phone in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Explore and implement new systems and software to improve dispatch and logistics processes.
  • Carry out heavy lifting when necessary.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a dispatch, logistics, or transport supervisory role.
  • Strong geographical knowledge of the UK road network.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a polite, approachable, and customer-focused manner.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Reliable, trustworthy, with excellent timekeeping and attention to detail.
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling when required.
