Job summary

The Metropolitan Police in Stratford-upon-Avon is recruiting a Disclosure Case Officer for the Complex Investigation Team. You will review CPIA material, prepare disclosure schedules and evidential records, and liaise with the CPS and defence teams to support fair trial outcomes.

This permanent, full-time role (36 hours) requires handling sensitive material, redactions, and contributing to case strategy, with training in HOLMES/Connect/IIP and a strong commitment to professional standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of DG6 and CPIA (Criminal Procedures and Investigations Act 1996).
• Knowledge of FOIA and its application to disclosure and redaction.
• Knowledge of case file management and safeguarding responsibilities.
• Strong written communication skills to produce disclosure schedules and evidential summaries.
• Analytical skills to interpret complex material.
• Ability to handle sensitive material with professionalism and resilience.
• Experience with disclosure roles and tools (HOLMES/Connect/IIP).
• Willingness to undertake mandatory Disclosure Training (CILEX).

Responsibilities

• Review and assess case material in line with CPIA and DG6 to ensure relevant material is revealed appropriately.
• Prepare and maintain disclosure schedules and evidential records for investigators, CPS, and courts.
• Identify sensitive material requiring redaction or restricted handling and escalate as needed.
• Liaise with CPS and defence teams to progress disclosure matters and ensure compliance.
• Engage with internal colleagues and partner agencies to align disclosure activity with investigative objectives.
• Provide summaries and evidence in court when required, ensuring judicial directions are met.
• Carry out disclosure reviews of third-party data and progress actions as directed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of disclosure processes within the Complex Investigation Team.
