Job summary

University of Salford is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to manage Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases, ensuring high availability, performance and security. You will lead incident resolution, disaster recovery planning and drive continuous improvement with the infrastructure team.

You will provide technical leadership on upgrades, vendor management and documentation, and help transfer knowledge across staff to support day-to-day university processes for students and the community.

Qualifications

Experience managing Oracle and MS SQL Server databases in an enterprise environment.
Strong incident resolution, disaster recovery planning, and disaster recovery capabilities.
Ability to document processes and transfer knowledge across staff.

Responsibilities

Lead resolution and recovery from major incidents including Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity.
Monitor lifecycle of core infrastructure components and advise on replacements/upgrades.
Act as technical lead on installations, upgrades and changes to core infrastructure components.
Document information and ensure knowledge transfer across staff.
