ESSENTIAL EMPLOYMENT LTD in London is seeking a Disabled Facilities Grant Officer to administer grant applications, assess eligibility, and coordinate adaptations for residential properties.

You will interpret OT recommendations, prepare cost estimates, ensure compliance with housing legislation, and liaise with residents, contractors and internal teams. The role requires sensitive handling of vulnerable residents and lone-working site visits may be required.

Aufgaben

• Administer Disabled Facilities Grant applications in accordance with current legislation.
• Interpret recommendations provided by Occupational Therapists and translate these into practical adaptation solutions.
• Inspect residential properties and assess the feasibility of recommended adaptations.
• Prepare specifications, schedules of work, drawings, and cost estimates for adaptation and improvement works.
• Undertake financial means testing and assess applicants' eligibility for grant assistance.
• Ensure compliance with the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act and other relevant legislation.
• Manage adaptation projects from approval through to completion, monitoring progress, quality, costs, and deadlines.
• Liaise effectively with residents, contractors, architects, surveyors, Occupational Therapists, and internal departments.
• Carry out site visits and inspections to monitor works, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with building regulations and health and safety requirements.
• Provide advice and guidance to disabled residents, carers, and family members regarding grants, adaptations, and available support.
• Maintain accurate records, case files, and performance data.
• Deal sensitively and professionally with vulnerable adults, children, and their representatives.
• Work independently, including undertaking lone-working site visits where required.
