Everpool Recruitment is seeking a Disability Assessor (Nurse, Physio, OT or Paramedic) for the UK. The role focuses on independent health assessments to support PIP applications, producing clear, evidence-based reports for the DWP.

Mon-Fri with a mix of office and home working, you won’t be responsible for entitlement decisions. Salary £40,000-£42,000 with benefits; 33 days holiday; professional membership coverage; and ongoing salary reviews.

Qualifications

• Registered healthcare professional (NMC/HCPC).
• Minimum 1 year post-registration clinical experience.
• Strong written and verbal clinical communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a clinical caseload.
• Experience with complex health conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct telephone, video, or face-to-face assessments at assessment centres.
• Perform evaluations to determine how a disability affects daily living.
• Assess physical, mental health, cognitive, and sensory impairments.
• Produce impartial, accurate written reports using the IT system.
• Maintain knowledge of policies, procedures and assessment criteria.
• Adhere to safeguarding, equality, data protection and risk management standards.

Salary: £40,000 - £42,000 + Benefits

Hours: Monday - Friday (9am - 5pm)

Essential Criteria

• Registered healthcare professional (NMC/HCPC registration required).
• Minimum of one years' post-registration clinical experience.
• Strong written and verbal clinical communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a clinical caseload efficiently.
• Experience working with complex health conditions

Role Summary

The Disability Assessor conducts independent assessments of individuals with health conditions or disabilities applying for Personal Independence Payment (PIP). The role requires producing comprehensive, evidence-based reports for the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP). The assessor is not responsible for benefit entitlement decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct telephone, video, or face-to-face assessments of claimants, primarily at Assessment Centres, with some community visits as required.
• Perform thorough evaluations to determine how a claimant's disability or health condition affects daily living.
• Assess individuals with a range of physical, mental health, cognitive, and sensory impairments.
• Produce impartial, accurate, and high-quality written reports using a designated IT system.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and assessment criteria.
• Adhere to all professional standards, including Safeguarding, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Data Protection, and Risk Management.
