Job summary

Practice Plus Group is seeking a Directorate Lead Pharmacy Technician to drive medicines management and leadership across prisons and secure environments in the Midlands. The role is senior, regional, and home‑based with travel to sites as required.

You will lead pharmacy teams, ensure safe, high‑quality services, and contribute to service development within a strong governance framework.

Qualifications

NVQ Level 3, BTEC, or equivalent qualification enabling registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Current full GPhC registration.
Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
Significant experience in a senior pharmacy technician role.
Experience working across multiple sites.
Experience implementing medicines optimisation programmes.
Experience collaborating with clinical and non‑clinical colleagues to deliver high‑quality patient care.

Responsibilities

Provide expert medicines management and medicines optimisation guidance.
Lead safe, high‑quality pharmacy services across the region.
Develop and support pharmacists and technicians; promote professional standards.
Drive continuous quality improvement and governance activities.
Ensure compliance with GPhC and CQC standards.
Review incidents and audits to improve patient safety.
Support implementation of safety frameworks and service mobilisation.
