Vercel is seeking a Director of Solutions Architects to lead our EMEA SA team across Europe. Based in London or Berlin, this hybrid role requires three days onsite and close collaboration with sales, product, and engineering to win and expand enterprise accounts.

You will mentor managers, drive technical excellence in pre-sales, and develop repeatable plays from market trends while aligning with field leadership on budgets and staffing.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Solutions Architect, Sales Engineering, or Pre-sales roles.
• At least 5 years in a leadership position.
• Strong background in modern web technologies (JavaScript, React, Next.js, Node.js).
• Experience with enterprise customers and complex deals.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and manage the EMEA SA team.
• Ensure technical excellence across the pre-sales cycle.
• Provide hands-on support for key accounts (presentations, architecture reviews, migration plans).
• Coach SA engagements on strategic accounts and regions.
• Partner with engineering to feedback from the field and shape product direction.
• Develop repeatable plays from observed trends across the team.
• Track SA performance and report to Sales leadership and Field Engineering.

About the role:

We are looking for a Director, Solutions Architects to join our Field Engineering organization. You’ll be responsible for building and leading our team of Solutions Architects and Managers across Europe, helping customers ship incredible web and AI products using Vercel, Next.js, and our agentic infrastructure stack. You will drive technical excellence, mentor the team, and partner closely with sales leadership to win new business and expand existing accounts. You will report to the VP of Field Engineering.

This is a hybrid role based in Vercel's London or Berlin office, with a required three days per week onsite.

What you will do:

• Lead, develop, and manage our EMEA SA team.
• Ensure technical excellence across the pre-sales cycle.
• Provide hands‑on support for key accounts as needed (presentations, architecture reviews, migration plans).
• Oversee and coach SA engagements on strategic accounts across segments.
• Partner with our engineering org to provide product feedback from the field.
• Develop repeatable plays from trends your are seeing across your team.
• Track and report SA performance to Sales and Field Engineering leadership quarterly.
• Own org planning, staffing, budgeting, and regional recruiting.

About you:

• 10+ years of experience in Solutions Architect, Sales Engineering, or Technical Pre‑sales roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
• Strong background in modern web technologies (JavaScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, APIs, cloud infrastructure).
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and scale technical teams in a high-growth environment.
• Demonstrated success working with enterprise and commercial customers across diverse industries.
• Strong understanding of modern software development workflows (CI/CD, DevOps, frontend frameworks, etc).
• Experience collaborating with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to drive customer success.

Bonus if you:

• Have hands‑on experience working with Vercel, Next.js, or similar frontend frameworks.
• Have led SA teams at a high-growth SaaS or cloud infrastructure company.
• Bring expertise in developer tooling, edge computing, or performance optimization.
• Are comfortable presenting at conferences, webinars, or large‑scale customer events.
