YouGov Deutschland GmbH is seeking a senior qualitative research leader to drive valuable projects, mentor researchers, and grow our qual business across international opportunities. You will oversee direct and indirect people-management, ensuring high-quality delivery and growth within your team.

You will help run the qualitative function, collaborating with the Global Head to implement cutting-edge techniques, tools, and processes, while developing proposals and leading client pitches.

Due to large growth in our work with the biggest names in technology and social media, we’re looking for someone ready to make the next step in their career: leading valuable projects, growing people and further expanding and innovating our work for clients.

This key role will draw on a mix of people-management, commercial and qualitative research skills. You’ll be responsible for the direct (and indirect) management and growth of people and for the quality and consistency of project delivery within your team. Having had experience in the market, you will be responsible for a sub team target and working with your network and ours to develop qual business in the market.

You will also help in the running of the qualitative team as a whole; helping the Global Head of Qualitative Research in devising and implementing cutting edge qual techniques: assisting in the implementation of tools and processes to build team capacity,training and guiding the team on pitching techniques, working on international costings/proposals and representing the qualitative team as a whole to internal stakeholders and external clients.

What will I be delivering?

• You will be a subject expert and a go to internal and external resource for advice, guidance and knowledge on qualitative methodology
• Create and grow strong and close working with internal commercial teams and quantitative sector units
• Be accountable for meeting your own targets and working to develop client accounts / key sectors
• Write proposals and develop new business opportunities, establish expertise in methodology recommendations and international opportunities
• Develop, propose and deliver innovative qualitative solutions to grow our clients based on your detailed understanding of methods and analytics
• Manage, mentor and lead researchers, nurturing them to progress in their careers
• Act as the project manager for a variety of qualitative research projects, with a particular focus on commercial sectors from across the YouGov portfolio
• A true storyteller, you will bring the qual research to life, providing detailed insight and tie this into quantitative results
• Ensure client satisfaction through ensuring accuracy and consistency of all Qualitative research projects
• Ensure sales and marketing campaigns are executed to a high standard to assist in achieving the department’s revenue and profitability goals
• Present to clients professionally, attend custom team meetings and prepare client debriefs via online communication and through written reports

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience
• Strong business development and client growth skills
• A track record of high-quality qualitative research methodology, design and delivery
• A strong background in market research, ideally including some of the following sectors: Social & Digital media; Telecoms (DMT); Financial Services; Consumer; Retail
• Excellent track record of hitting personal and team targets
• Managing, developing and/or mentoring others
• 5+ years in moderation
• Strong storytelling skills via written reports
• PPT reporting and design experience

• Excellent client focus and handling skills
