Job description

About Prime Coalition

Prime Coalition empowers philanthropists to scale untapped climate solutions with precision and speed. By combining deep philanthropy expertise with rigorous, evidence-based climate impact assessment, Prime leverages philanthropic capital for outsized positive impact to advance climate mitigation, adaptation, and resilience.

Since its founding in 2014, Prime has deployed $108M in catalytic capital, crowded in $2.8B in external capital, and supported 58 companies. In tandem with catalytic investing, Prime also shares open-access tools, research, and resources that have supported more than 19,000 users worldwide. Together, these strategies enable philanthropy to scale the solutions humanity needs to thrive without the threat of climate change.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Prime is seeking a Director of Partnerships to expand Prime’s reach in service of our mission to unlock markets for climate solutions. A central focus of this role will be growing the pool of philanthropic, catalytic capital available for Prime’s investment opportunities, particularly by building relationships with high-net-worth individuals, DAF holders, family offices, and other philanthropists interested in using investment tools alongside traditional grantmaking. Prime seeks an experienced, outcomes-focused leader who balances mission with results. This critical hire possesses the ambition to scale Prime’s reach and the relational depth to ensure that growth is rooted in authentic partnership.

The ideal candidate is a mission-driven doer who understands both philanthropy and catalytic impact investing. This person can translate complex climate investment prospects into compelling opportunities for philanthropic partners. They are energized by a challenge, thrive amid uncertainty, and bring a track record of leading teams while maintaining relationships with key philanthropic and strategic partners. This person leads with compassion while making decisions rooted in data, ensuring that Prime continues to be a field-leading bridge between trailblazing philanthropists and fund managers working together to scale climate solutions.

The Director of Partnerships will maintain the highest ethical standards, ensuring that every partnership across Prime is built on a foundation of integrity, transparency, and long-term trust-building. This includes listening to partners’ needs, creating pathways for collaboration, and ensuring that relevant knowledge is stored, safeguarded, and disseminated appropriately for continued learning and improvement of Prime’s relationship management function.
