Shiplake College is seeking an experienced and pragmatic technology leader to provide strategic oversight of the College’s technology operations during a maternity cover of up to one year, with an immediate start.

The role focuses on cybersecurity, digital governance, data protection and business continuity, while delivering ongoing infrastructure, cloud and transformation projects and clear reporting to senior leaders and governors.

Qualifications

• Experience leading IT strategy in an education context (or similar).
• Proven ability to manage cybersecurity, data protection and business continuity.
• Experience delivering cloud/infrastructure transformation projects and governance.

Shiplake College is seeking an experienced and pragmatic technology leader to provide strategic oversight of the College’s technology operations, cybersecurity, digital governance and transformation projects during a period of maternity cover of up to one year, with an immediate start.

During the maternity cover period, the successful candidate will ensure that the College’s digital services remain secure, reliable and well supported, with strong oversight of cybersecurity, digital safeguarding, data protection and business continuity. They will maintain momentum on key infrastructure, cloud and transformation projects, ensure regulatory and governance requirements are met, and hold suppliers accountable for delivering high-quality services. They will provide clear leadership to the IT team, deliver concise and effective reporting to senior leaders and governors, and work closely with the Academic Director of Digital Strategy to ensure a coordinated and seamless approach to digital leadership across the College as well as both strategic direction and operational assurance across the organisation.

Shiplake College is an independent boarding and day school for around 620 pupils aged 11 to 18. There has been a co-educational Sixth Form since 1998 and since September 2023 girls have been welcomed into Year 7 as the College became fully co-educational.
