Job description

The Waldorf Astoria Admiralty Archis seeking a Director of Sales to join the pre-opening team of this new luxury hotel scheduled to open in early 2026. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced sales leader to support the launch of one of London's most anticipated hotels.

The hotel will be housed in the iconic Admiralty Arch, a Grade I listed building at the end of The Mall, opposite Buckingham Palace.

The project is a collaboration between Hilton and Reuben Brothers, who acquired the property in 2022. It will feature 112 rooms and suites, including a two-bedroom VIP suite with views of Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square, a rooftop terrace, and a ground-floor terrace overlooking St James's Park.

The hotel will offer world-class dining, a spa, and a ballroom for up to 320 guests. It aims to preserve the historical significance of Admiralty Arch while providing a luxurious experience.

Additional features include residential apartments and a private members' club, making it a versatile destination for both guests and locals. Its prime location and luxury offerings are set to establish it as a landmark in London.

The Director of Sales will oversee the hotel’s sales and marketing strategies, aiming to grow business, monitor progress, and position the hotel competitively in the market. The role involves active engagement with luxury B2B clients and end-users.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing sales and marketing plans to meet business objectives and market share targets
  • Collaborating with senior management to identify growth opportunities
  • Leading and developing the sales team through inspiring leadership
  • Representing the hotel at luxury trade shows and events
  • Hosting client entertainment and engagement activities
  • Managing sales and marketing budgets
  • Preparing contracts and monitoring offers and discounts
  • Forecasting and reporting sales performance
  • Participating in the development of sales and marketing strategies
  • Organizing product and service information dissemination
  • Providing regular reports on sales activities and contributions
  • Collaborating with other departments to enhance guest experience

Ideal candidate profile:

  • Experience in a senior sales role within London’s 5-star luxury hotels
  • Expertise in luxury market segments and strong connections with luxury travel agencies and consortia (Virtuoso, Amex TLS, Internova)
  • Positive attitude, excellent communication, and leadership skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills
  • High grooming standards and flexibility
  • Proven ability to close sales and develop strategic accounts

Preferred additional qualification: a relevant degree in sales, business development, or a related field.
