Job Description

The responsibilities of the Director of Property Services include:

• Strategic leadership of all property services, including repairs, maintenance, compliance, and capital works.
• Development and implementation of asset management strategies.
• Oversight of major investment programmes and new building projects.
• Management of compliance and safety programmes.
• Leading digital transformation initiatives to improve service delivery.
• Building and maintaining partnerships with contractors and stakeholders.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate should have:

• At least 5 years of senior management experience in property services, preferably in social housing.
• A degree in a relevant field (e.g., Building Surveying, Facilities Management).
• Membership of a professional body (RICS, CIH, or CIOB).
• Proven experience managing large-scale repairs and maintenance services.
• Strong financial skills and experience managing budgets.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Success in driving service improvements and cultural change.
• A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle, with the ability to drive to Saffron Walden.
• Availability to participate in a senior management on-call rota.
• Flexibility to attend evening meetings as needed.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare.
