Job summary

Relation Therapeutics is seeking an Associate Director, Platform Engineering to lead hybrid compute infrastructure and the scientific compute platform supporting ML and drug discovery. You will set the technical direction, build a high-performing team, and partner with Engineering, Data Science and ML to evolve the platform strategy.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in platform, infrastructure or DevOps engineering across hybrid environments.
• Proven ability to lead engineers from strategy through to delivery and own production systems.
• Hands-on operational experience with on-call rotations and incident responses.
• Deep Kubernetes expertise across on‑prem and cloud environments.
• Experience building, running or evolving MLOps infrastructure (Kubeflow, notebooks, GPU training).
• Strong CI/CD maturity, developer tooling and observability across multi-environment platforms.
• Security fundamentals with practical experience implementing controls.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve Relation’s platform strategy in collaboration with leadership.
• Own architectural direction for Kubernetes clusters and hybrid infrastructure.
• Lead and develop the Platform Engineering team, attracting top engineers.
• Ensure the scientific compute platform meets ML and data science needs.
• Advance CI/CD pipelines, internal services and developer tooling as a product.
• Establish observability and disaster recovery across on-prem and cloud.
• Maintain platform security controls including IAM and network policies.
