Penguin Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Director of Planning to lead the national planning practice across energy, transport, housing and major infrastructure sectors. The role can be based anywhere in the UK and involves working with senior leaders in planning, environment, engineering and design to shape sustainable infrastructure.

You will drive growth, lead high-performing teams and influence planning reform and industry thinking while delivering high-quality advice on complex commissions.

Qualifications

• Degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning (RTPI accredited).
• Chartered Member of the RTPI.
• Extensive consultancy experience, including leading high-performing teams.
• Proven track record of winning and delivering major infrastructure and development projects.
• Deep understanding of UK planning systems, policy and consenting regimes, including DCO experience where relevant.
• Strong commercial acumen and experience managing complex projects and client relationships.
• Established professional network and recognised profile within the planning industry.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide strategic leadership to the national Planning practice.
• Lead work-winning and business development activities, securing major infrastructure and development projects.
• Oversee the delivery of high-quality planning advice across complex, multidisciplinary commissions.
• Promote integrated project delivery and cross-disciplinary working.
• Lead, mentor and develop teams across the UK and support succession planning.
• Support recruitment and retention of top talent.
