Job summary

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust in Worthing is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to become Director of Patient Safety and Quality Governance. The post provides strategic leadership across patient safety, quality governance, regulatory assurance, risk and organisational learning.

The postholder will report to the Chief Nursing Officer, advise the Board and Executive Team, and undertake up to two clinical sessions aligned with their CCT and interests.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across patient safety, quality governance, regulatory assurance, risk and organisational learning.
• Lead Trust-wide arrangements for patient safety and PSIRF, quality assurance, CQC readiness, risk management and mortality review.
• Support suicide prevention efforts and reducing restrictive practice, ensuring prompt escalation of concerns and measurable improvements.
• Report to the Chief Nursing Officer, advise the Board and Executive Team, and provide senior cover for the Chief Nursing Officer.
• Manage three direct reports and participate in the consultant on-call rota.
