Job summary

The University of Lancashire Students' Union is seeking a Director of Operations to lead commercial activity, finance, people operations and compliance from the Senior Leadership Team. You will oversee the Union's social enterprise, cafe, bar and the 53 Degrees venue, and shape a new commercial strategy with students to ensure the financial sustainability of all union operations.

We’re looking for a Director of Operations who cares just as much about the team as the spreadsheet, to join our small but mighty Senior Leadership Team at The University of Lancashire Students' Union.

You’ll lead our social enterprise, business development, finance, people operations and compliance functions. That means everything from our cafe, bar and newly expanded 53 Degrees venue to the systems that keep us safe and sustainable. You’ll shape a new commercial strategy with students and make sure every pound we earn goes back into the student experience.

Role Summary

Lead the Union's commercial activity, finance and business operations functions, ensuring safe and engaging commercial activity, robust financial management, well-run people operations and organisational compliance. Bring energy and leadership to the Union's social enterprise Role Summary: activity, ensuring it operates sustainably, generates income for the Union, and enhances the wider student experience. Work closely with the Union's external finance support, while retaining accountability for financial management, reporting and controls within this Union. Act as the organisational lead on operations, ensuring the Union's business functionsenable its charitable and membership priorities.
