Job summary

Jobgether is partnering to find a Director, Mechanical Engineering in the United Kingdom. You will lead the mechanical engineering strategy for a global AI infrastructure portfolio, overseeing standards, reference designs, and project delivery across regions.

You will shape cooling architectures capable of supporting high-density AI workloads and collaborate with multiple disciplines to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; chartered status preferred.
• Significant data centre or mission-critical mechanical engineering experience.
• Deep knowledge of data centre cooling systems (chilled water, heat rejection, air-side design).
• Experience developing standards, reference designs, or basis-of-design for hyperscale data centres.

Responsibilities

• Serve as mechanical engineering SME and design authority across global portfolio.
• Develop and maintain mechanical design standards and basis-of-design documentation.
• Own liquid cooling architecture and facility water systems.
• Provide technical guidance to active projects to avoid delays.
• Mentor engineers and build the mechanical engineering team as pipelines grow.
