Job description

Global Luxury Group | London - Mayfair | Hybrid Working

A high-profile leadership opportunity combining technical accounting excellence, finance transformation and strategic influence within a prestigious global luxury group.

We are partnering with a large, international luxury group to appoint a Director of Group Financial Reporting into a pivotal role within its global finance leadership team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished finance professional to take ownership of Group Financial Reporting, strengthen the financial control environment and play a leading role in a significant finance transformation agenda.

Operating within a complex, international and evolving business, the successful candidate will combine deep IFRS technical expertise with the ability to drive systems improvements, modernise reporting processes and deliver meaningful change.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the VP, Group Financial Controller, you will lead the development of a best-in-class Group Financial Reporting function, ensuring robust financial reporting, effective controls and high‑quality financial information across the global organisation.

This is far more than a traditional statutory reporting role. You will have the opportunity to shape the future of the reporting function, influence technology and systems transformation, and partner with senior finance stakeholders on complex accounting and strategic projects.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and enhance the Group Financial Reporting function, driving improvements in reporting quality, efficiency, processes and controls.

Act as the Group's technical accounting expert, providing authoritative IFRS guidance on complex accounting matters and strategic business decisions.

Own the Group consolidation and statutory reporting processes, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting across multiple international entities.

Play a key leadership role in the wider Finance Transformation programme, driving reporting systems enhancements, process automation and improved data integrity.

Develop and implement consistent Group accounting policies, reporting frameworks and financial controls.

Partner closely with Group FP&A to align financial and management reporting, creating a consistent and reliable source of financial information.

Provide technical oversight of long‑term financial models, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow forecasting.

Support complex strategic projects, including M&A activity, transaction accounting, capital allocation and potential corporate events.

Build strong relationships across Group Finance, Tax, Treasury, FP&A and Finance Transformation, influencing stakeholders across an international business.

Help develop a high‑performing, commercially engaged Group Financial Reporting function.

About You

We are looking for a technically exceptional finance and people leader who is equally motivated by transformation, technology and building better ways of working.

You will bring:

ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional accounting qualification, ideally with a strong technical accounting foundation.

Significant experience in Group Financial Reporting within a large, complex, international organisation.

Excellent IFRS knowledge and extensive experience of multi‑entity Group consolidations.

A track record of improving financial reporting processes, systems and control frameworks.

Experience contributing to finance transformation, reporting technology implementations or process automation projects.

The ability to navigate ambiguity, challenge existing processes and deliver practical, scalable solutions.

Strong stakeholder management skills, with the credibility to influence senior finance leadership.

A collaborative, proactive and hands‑on approach, balancing technical rigour with commercial awareness.

Advanced Excel skills, with exposure to Power BI and financial reporting or consolidation systems advantageous.

Experience within luxury, premium consumer brands or another complex international group would be beneficial, but is not essential.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This is a rare opportunity to combine the technical depth of a senior Group Reporting position with the breadth and visibility of a major finance transformation role.

You will join a prestigious global organisation with a sophisticated international structure, offering the opportunity to make a tangible impact on how financial information is produced, controlled and used to support strategic decision‑making.

With significant exposure to senior finance leadership, complex technical challenges and business‑critical transformation projects, this role offers genuine scope to shape and elevate the Group reporting function.
