Job description

We're partnering with a highly ambitious, private equity-backed international group entering a significant period of growth and transformation. With an established global footprint, substantial investment backing and an ambitious acquisition strategy, the business is positioning itself for a major step forward.

They are looking to appoint an exceptional Group Financial Controller to lead a global team, take ownership of the Group's financial control environment and build the infrastructure to support its next phase of growth.

This is a high-profile appointment offering genuine influence, significant executive exposure and the opportunity to shape a critical finance function.

The Role

Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will take ownership of financial reporting, governance and control across a complex international group. Leading an established global team, you will drive technical excellence, strengthen financial processes and ensure the function can support a rapidly evolving business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing a global finance team, building capability, accountability and consistent standards across international operations.
  • Taking full ownership of Group reporting, including multi-currency consolidations, statutory accounts and the annual audit.
  • Acting as the Group's technical accounting authority, navigating complex IFRS matters and international reporting requirements.
  • Driving improvements in financial controls, governance and balance sheet integrity across the Group.
  • Leading finance transformation, improving systems, processes and reporting efficiency to create a scalable, high-performing function.
  • Playing a key role in acquisitions, from technical accounting and due diligence through to post-acquisition integration.
  • Overseeing core financial operations and supporting cash management, treasury and international compliance.
  • Working closely with executive leadership, auditors and external advisers on complex financial matters and major corporate initiatives.

You’ll play a central role in shaping a high-performing global finance function, raising standards, strengthening financial infrastructure and building the capability to support the Group's ambitious growth plans.

About You

We're looking for a technically outstanding finance leader with the ambition and capability to make a genuine impact.

You will bring:

  • ACA or ACCA qualification and deep technical expertise in IFRS, Group consolidation and international reporting.
  • A strong track record within a listed, private equity-backed or similarly complex international group.
  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing finance teams.
  • The ability to strengthen financial controls, improve systems and drive meaningful operational change.
  • Exposure to acquisitions, corporate transactions and the integration of businesses.
  • The credibility to operate confidently with senior executives and challenge thinking where necessary.
  • Experience of US GAAP, SOX or public company reporting would be a significant advantage.

You’ll combine exceptional technical judgement with strong leadership and a proactive, hands‑on approach. Comfortable with complexity and change, you’ll be somebody who sees the bigger picture while maintaining absolute confidence in the detail.

Why Join?
  • A genuinely international leadership role with ownership of a global finance function.
  • Significant growth ambitions, backed by substantial investment and an active acquisition strategy.
  • High-level executive exposure and involvement in major corporate initiatives.
  • Real opportunity to shape the function, strengthen infrastructure and drive change.
  • A compelling long‑term opportunity within a business entering a defining stage of its development.

For a technically exceptional Group Financial Controller looking for greater scale, complexity and influence, this is an outstanding opportunity to help shape the future of an ambitious international business.
