As the Director of Communications, EMEA at Cloudera, you will help build the Cloudera brand through media relations and customer & industry storytelling. Working closely with teams across the organization and outside agencies, you will help evolve and share Cloudera's story with our core markets in the EMEA Region - BeNeLux, UK, Germany, Dubai, France, Italy, and Spain.
Responsibilities
- Build awareness through media relations, create & drive EMEA-focused outreach plans, and work closely with local market spokespeople to increase proactive coverage as a driver for sales opportunities.
- Collaborate with the US-based communications team and local PR agencies to pitch Cloudera’s products, industry, and customer stories, managing media relationships.
- Research media and target audiences, and drive ongoing proactive media activity.
- Position Cloudera's leadership as industry subject matter experts and thought leaders in their respective local markets.
- Partner with our customer reference team to identify referenceable customers and share their stories.
- Write press materials, review and edit content including executive briefing materials and bylines.
- Identify and build relationships with influencers and seek opportunities for timely local stories.
- Manage and grow the analyst relations program in EMEA to influence key local industry analysts.
- Work with regional senior management to develop strategic plans and objectives to drive recognition and leadership of Cloudera as the true hybrid platform for data, analytics, and AI.
- Proactively engage with tours, briefings, inquiries, and events to increase awareness and influence with Tier 1 analysts and influencers.
- Cultivate customer relationships for participation in analyst events, reference calls, peer reviews, and major vendor evaluation surveys.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant experience in PR, ideally with PR agency experience.
- Experience with media relations and industry analyst relations.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills, with experience drafting impactful blog posts and navigating industry analyst reports.
- Experience working directly with executives to guide communications strategies and media/analyst briefings.
- Proven project management skills with the ability to drive tasks to completion and analyze results.
