Job Description:

As Business Development Lead, you will be expected to conduct yourself with the utmost professionalism and demonstrate strong leadership.

Your main focus will be business development for the client, as well as supporting the internal team. This includes leading by example, motivating staff, and helping them develop to reach their full potential.

As a Subject Matter Expert in climate change and sustainability, you will lead in developing and maximizing the contract and consultancy experience for our clients. You will also serve as a Leader and Solution Oversight on client projects, supervising and managing consultants to ensure client goals are met. Additionally, you will actively seek and pursue new business opportunities to support organizational growth and strategy.

Responsibilities
Business Development
  • Proactively identify new opportunities.
  • Drive business growth initiatives.
  • Lead bid writing, proposal development, and tender responses.
  • Engage with clients, potential clients, and partners.
  • Promote the business via social media (e.g., LinkedIn).
  • Develop and present case studies and lessons learned from projects.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and clients to identify further opportunities.
  • Manage large client accounts, reporting to senior leadership.
Internal Responsibilities
  • Effectively liaise with senior staff, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Support leadership initiatives.
  • Participate in business development activities and client interactions.
  • Assist with bids and securing new work.
  • Represent the company at events and conferences.
  • Manage and supervise technical staff and resources.
  • Set strategic direction and oversee implementation.
  • Maximize utilization levels of team members.
  • Line manage staff, overseeing workloads and objectives.
  • Office attendance is occasional, with offices in Bristol and London.
