Purpose Of The Role:
Purpose of role:
To ensure Onward minimises risk across its property portfolio and operations, while meeting all statutory and legal obligations related to building safety and landlord compliance. This role also supports the effective management of our corporate estate and complex buildings, always keeping our customers and colleagues at the heart of what we do.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a strategic approach to Building Safety and compliance for our property portfolio that will ensure we minimise risk, and are compliant with our statutory and legal obligations.
Develop a longer term investment plan that will ensure that building safety risk is managed and provide a key input into investment decisions on which properties we invest in or dispose of
Develop a holistic approach to the facilities management of our corporate estate, complex buildings and commercial assets investment to ensure that they operate effectively for our customers and clients
- Property and Service Standards
In collaboration with colleagues develop in conjunction with colleagues our customers an affordable Onward Homes Standard that will underpin our approach to our property assets and exceed our regulatory obligations. Deliver quality customer focused services for building safety
- Ingenuity and Forward Thinking
Ensure a continued approach to ingenuity and the use of technology new products and systems that will improve our customers homes.
- Management, Leadership and Culture Change
Manage the budgets, resources and priorities of the team ensuring effective and efficient use of resources to deliver agreed performance targets and customer satisfaction. Drive culture change across the organisation based on core values.
Identify, build, and develop an extensive network of external partnerships to ensure that the interests of the organisation are represented. Be an ambassador for the organisation and an advocate for customers.
Essential
Skills and experience
- Considerable experience in the delivery of building safety in a diverse property portfolio
- Considerable experience of managing facilities and building safety in a large housing portfolio with demonstrable commitment to deliver exceptional customer service
- Experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams to a high level of performance
- Proven experience of effectively commissioning and managing contractors and consultants
- Sound understanding of compliance issues and risk management approaches.
- Good commercial understanding of the housing sector and the key development issues for social housing providers
- Ability to interpret complex data and using to inform business decisions
- Ability to work and influence external partners at a senior level
Essential:
Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in a property related field e.g. MRICS, CIOB, CENG or equivalent
