Base pay range

To ensure One Manchester complies with Building Safety legislation. You will have responsibility overseeing in-scope buildings, ensuring policies, procedures and the relevant management systems are implemented and adhered to, to ensure regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for liaising and engaging with customers on any concerns they may have with the safety and integrity of their building.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement a Resident Engagement Strategy, leading communication with residents about building safety, responsibilities, and issues.
  2. Engage with the Building Safety Regulator.
  3. Manage the day-to-day safety of all in-scope buildings within your portfolio under the Building Safety Bill 2021.
  4. Coordinate and manage all structural and fire safety matters to meet legislative requirements.
  5. Support the compliance program for fire equipment, portable appliance testing, alarms, legionella, and other safety works.
  6. Implement and coordinate fire safety, evacuation, and security arrangements for buildings.
  7. Monitor and challenge colleagues on Fire Risk Assessments, ensuring they are current and actions are completed timely.
  8. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and maintain Building Safety Cases and proactively manage risks.
  9. Work with Development and Asset Management to maintain a Golden Thread of digital information supporting Building Safety Cases.
  10. Maintain good relationships with the Building Safety Regulator and Fire Authority to ensure expectations are met and certificates are maintained.
  11. Attend contractor, consultant, and procurement meetings to ensure ongoing building safety.
  12. Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and Building Regulations.
  13. Contribute to internal policies, procedures, and systems for building operations.
  14. Liaise with stakeholders on maintenance and asset management, supervising contractors and processes like Permit to Work.
  15. Support colleagues managing projects or inspections to meet standards.
  16. Stay updated on legislation and industry best practices related to Building Safety.
  17. Ensure high customer satisfaction and handle complaints effectively.

Candidate Profile

  • Relevant Fire Safety qualification (e.g., IFE, IFSM) or working towards it.
  • NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management or equivalent.
  • Chartered Membership of CIH or CIOB, or degree in construction/housing management or equivalent.
  • Experience in a similar role for a residential provider.
  • Thorough understanding of Building Safety legislation and the Safety Act.
  • Experience managing external contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong IT skills.

Job Offer

  • Salary of £61,054.
