Job Description

To ensure One Manchester complies with Building Safety legislation, you will oversee in-scope buildings, ensuring policies, procedures, and management systems are implemented and adhered to for regulatory compliance. You will liaise with customers regarding safety concerns related to their buildings.

Description
  • Develop and implement a Resident Engagement Strategy, communicating with residents about building safety and responsibilities.
  • Engage with the Building Safety Regulator.
  • Manage the safety of all in-scope buildings within your portfolio per the Building Safety Bill 2021.
  • Coordinate structural and fire safety matters to meet legislative requirements.
  • Support compliance programs, including fire equipment, testing, alarms, legionella, and other safety works.
  • Implement fire safety, evacuation, and security arrangements to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Monitor and challenge colleagues on Fire Risk Assessments, ensuring timely updates and action closures.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop Building Safety Cases and manage risks proactively.
  • Maintain a digital 'Golden Thread' of building information supporting safety cases.
  • Build relationships with the Building Safety Regulator and Fire Authority.
  • Participate in contractor and stakeholder meetings to uphold building safety standards.
  • Ensure adherence to Health and Safety legislation and Building Regulations.
  • Contribute to policies, procedures, and systems for building operations.
  • Coordinate maintenance and asset management, supervising contractors through PTW schemes.
  • Support colleagues in project management and inspections to meet standards.
  • Stay updated on legislation and industry best practices.
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction and manage complaints.
Profile
  • Fire Safety qualification (e.g., IFE, IFSM) or working towards it.
  • NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management certification or working towards it.
  • Chartered membership of CIH or CIOB, or relevant degree.
  • Experience in a similar role within residential housing.
  • Understanding of Building Safety legislation and the Safety Act.
  • Project management experience in Building Safety upgrades.
  • Experience managing contractors, stakeholders, and residents.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and IT skills.
