Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Lead, Design System in London (hybrid) to guide Nebula, Pearson's enterprise design system, and extend its impact across business units. You will shape strategy, governance, and adoption while leading a cross-functional team of design and engineering specialists to deliver scalable, accessible, brand-aligned experiences.

In this executive role you drive platform direction, AI-enabled acceleration, and measurement of value, partnering with Product, Brand, Accessibility,

Responsibilities

• Enterprise Nebula strategy, vision and multi-year platform direction
• Adoption, governance & migration across business units
• Executive alignment, investment narrative & value measurement
• AI-enabled design and engineering acceleration workflows
• Leadership of the Nebula design and engineering team
• Token, component & theming architecture strategy
• Embed WCAG 2.2 accessibility & usability standards
• Audit-driven Nebula roadmap with BU migrations
• Adoption platform telemetry, adoption & reuse metrics
• Team leadership across design and engineering disciplines
• Design Code parity: Figma to Storybook and handoff
• AI pipeline alignment and governed experiences
• Executive narrative: translate investments into enterprise outcomes
• Cross-functional partnership with Brand, AI, Learning & Product
• Balance central ownership with BU flexibility
