Job summary

ICAEW is seeking an ACA-qualified accountant for a Director Designate role in the UK. You will manage a varied portfolio of OMB and international clients, delivering accounting, financial reporting and wider commercial advice alongside audit exposure.

This isn’t purely technical; you’ll help with marketing, networking and business development to identify opportunities with existing clients and grow the practice.

A well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice is looking to appoint an ambitious ACA-qualified accountant as part of its longer-term succession plans.The firm has an interesting and varied client base including owner-managed businesses, audit clients and international companies establishing and growing their operations in the UK. Your new role

This is a Director Designate opportunity for someone who wants to play a significant role in the future development of the practice.You will manage and develop relationships across a varied portfolio of OMB and international clients, providing accounting, financial reporting and wider commercial advice, alongside exposure to audit.Importantly, this isn't purely a technical position. You'll have the opportunity to become involved in marketing, networking and business development, identifying opportunities with existing clients as well as helping to develop new relationships and grow the practice.

What you'll need to succeed

You'll be ACA qualified with good post-qualified experience gained within accountancy practice, together with strong technical accounting skills and experience of working closely with owner-managed businesses.Just as importantly, you'll be bright, dynamic and commercially minded, confident, building relationships and comfortable talking to clients beyond the numbers.You'll enjoy getting out into the market, developing relationships and spotting opportunities, with the ambition to progress into a senior leadership position.
