HSBC Holdings plc in London is seeking a senior leader to own HSBC’s global problem exposure management and deterioration oversight framework within Corporate & Institutional Banking. You’ll design and continuously develop the Watch, Worry and Monitor (WWM) framework, setting standards, MI and effectiveness across regions.
The role turns macroeconomic, portfolio and single-name insights into decisive portfolio actions that improve risk visibility, capital deployment and regulatory resilience.
HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world. Guided by our purpose of opening up a world of opportunity, our ambition is to become the world’s most trusted bank globally, putting customers at the heart of everything we do.
This is a senior opportunity within Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) to own HSBC’s global problem exposure management and deterioration oversight framework. You’ll design and continuously develop the wholesale Watch, Worry and Monitor (WWM) framework, setting minimum standards, management information and effectiveness assessment across regions and businesses. The role turns macroeconomic, sector, portfolio and single-name insights into decisive portfolio actions that support sustainable growth, risk-adjusted returns, capital efficiency and regulatory resilience. You’ll also shape client risk‑profiling and the Early Warning Indicator (EWI) platform to strengthen timely identification of emerging and deteriorating risk. Success means earlier and more consistent escalation, clearer decisions with accountable actions and forward‑looking insight that improves portfolio transparency and capital deployment. The role is based in London and reports to the Global Head of Core Portfolio Management.
This role shapes how CIB identifies, escalates and acts on emerging and deteriorating credit risk worldwide. You’ll set standards that enable timely local decisions while strengthening global consistency and oversight. The work directly improves the pace and quality of portfolio actions from remediation through to distribution and restructuring. If you’re ready to own a framework that influences decisions across regions and businesses we’d like to hear from you.
