We’re one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, with a network that covers more than 50 countries and territories. We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.

We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Lead Credit Risk Analyst

Join Wealth and Personal Banking Risk UK as a Lead Analyst, shaping and delivering analytics that strengthen credit decisions and portfolio outcomes across RBWM. This role sits in Retail Risk Analytics and focuses on developing data-driven automated solutions and monitoring performance at both transactional and portfolio levels. You’ll deliver projects that support profit and growth targets while helping minimise risk, bad debt and fraud losses. The environment is highly regulated and cost conscious with growing business and regulatory demand for analytics. Success means high-quality credit risk MI and insight, accurate implementation of analytics solutions and clear benefits realised after delivery. You’ll also partner closely with stakeholders across the bank and collaborate with offshore analytics teams to deliver at pace and to a high standard.

As an HSBC employee in the UK, you’ll have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.

In this role you will:

  • Shape and deliver a portfolio of analytics projects, delegating effectively across analysts and offshore teams to meet timelines and quality expectations

  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all outputs with clear governance and accountability for delivered results
  • Develop, implement and maintain data-driven solutions that support profit and growth targets while reducing risk, bad debt and fraud losses
  • Oversee credit risk management information (MI) and provide accurate, insightful commentary on customer and portfolio behaviour
  • Specify, test and complete post-implementation reviews to confirm solutions are implemented accurately and benefits are evidenced
  • Build strong working relationships across teams and where required interact with regulators and external suppliers

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Bring proven experience managing analytics projects within a team, delivering to agreed timelines and budgets
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of RBWM product suites especially credit products and how they behave across the lifecycle from acquisition to collections or attrition
  • Apply comprehensive expertise in statistical models and data-driven business rules for credit portfolios including performance indicators and key drivers
  • Build effective analytic solutions to credit and business problems using credit assessment and credit management methodologies
  • Partner effectively with business and IT teams to develop and deliver strategic change programmes
  • Use advanced analytics techniques within strong analytic and data environments and translate findings into clear business language and financial impacts
