Job summary

Artefact, a leading data and AI consultancy, is seeking a Director for its UK operation in London. The role combines AI and data strategy with client leadership and commercial growth, overseeing engagements across a portfolio of clients and a team of tech leads and managers.

You will shape AI strategy at board level, build playbooks, and drive practice development. The position offers hybrid working, global scale projects, and opportunities to mentor and advance talent within Artefact.

Qualifications

• The Director role requires leading AI and data engagements with strong business value.
• Around 10+ years of experience leading AI and data projects, with a track record of delivering measurable value.
• Deep expertise across AI technologies, ML, data analytics, and data management with cloud-based solutions.
• Credible at C-suite level; able to engage senior executives and stakeholders across client organisations.
• Genuinely invested in developing other people; mentoring and growing Artefact's talent.

Responsibilities

• Technology leadership: match business opportunities to ML/AI/data engineering solutions and discuss architecture with client engineers.
• AI use case leadership: identify, prioritise and develop AI use cases end-to-end; build reusable solution library.
• Data and analytics capability building: assess client maturity and develop a repeatable playbook.
• Senior client advisory & stakeholder relationships: work with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into operations.
• Commercial ownership and business development: lead pitches, shape propositions, and contribute to pipeline management.
• Thought leadership, innovation and talent development: stay ahead of AI trends and mentor junior staff.
