Job summary

Artefact in London is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to design and implement advanced data science and ML solutions for complex business challenges. You will own project streams, define deliverables and timelines, and present updates to client steering committees.

You will supervise and mentor team members on code, deployment, and best practices while architecting scalable cloud-based solutions with MLOps principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience supervising teams and delivering projects, with ability to present updates to stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to implement a range of complex models (time-series, gradient boosting, NLP, Bayesian).
• Strong ML-Ops experience for orchestration, experiment tracking, hyper-parameter tuning, and retraining pipelines.
• Proficiency in Python, Polars/PySpark, and data versioning (DVC); good SQL and data storage design.
• Hands-on cloud experience (two major providers) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
• CI/CD and containerisation knowledge (Docker, ideally Kubernetes).
• Desirable: Master's or PhD; experience with PySpark or Ray for parallelism.
• Familiarity with serverless deployments (Lambdas/Fargate) and Terratest/Ansible is a plus.
