Advocates is hiring a Direct Service Worker to support individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges. You will supervise daily activities, provide ongoing guidance, and assist with medication management, finances, and community integration as part of a team on a blended shift.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or high school diploma with 1 year related experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, judgement and coaching skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to utilize basic computer applications.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle for transporting clients.
  • Diversity sensitivity and inclusive practice preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of treatment plans and attend treatment meetings.
  • Document progress toward treatment plans.
  • Perform interventions to develop clients' skills.
  • Provide linkage with program staff and service providers.
  • Communicate progress, mental status, and changes in notes.
  • Offer ongoing support, guidance, and supervision to clients.
  • Identify community integration issues with supervisor guidance.
  • Monitor and document medication administration.
  • Maintain a clean, safe home-like environment.
  • Remain vigilant during scheduled shifts.
  • Complete paperwork, reports, and trainings on time.
