York St John University London Campus is recruiting a Digital Training Tutor on a full-time, fixed-term maternity cover for 9 months. The role is based in London, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with pattern to be agreed with Academic Services Manager.

Library & Learning Services supports learning and teaching across the University through the development and maintenance of the University's library collections, and through engagement with students to develop their academic and digital skills. The service also supports the University's research activity through provision of the University's research output and research data repositories. Library and Learning Services also provides accessibility services, as well as expertise in accessibility and inclusive learning, to students and staff.

Home to over 3800 students, London campus delivers postgraduate and undergraduate top-up degrees across Business, Health, and Computer & Data Science. This role provides support across all programmes and levels of study, with a particular focus on delivering the embedded Academic Skills Programme, contributing to Induction and Transition activity, and providing individualised student skills support. Development of the library space is also a key priority. With a student population that is predominantly international, commuting, and mature, the role operates within a distinctive and richly varied campus community.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Digital Training Tutor to join our Academic Services Team and London Learning and Wellness team on a maternity cover basis, supporting our growing and thriving London Campus.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and enjoys helping students develop the digital confidence, skills, and problem-solving abilities they need to succeed at university and in their future careers. While an interest in technology is important, this role is first and foremost about teaching, supporting learning, and making a positive difference to student outcomes.
Working closely with academic colleagues and professional service teams, you will design and deliver engaging learning opportunities that help students and staff make effective use of digital tools in academic and professional contexts. You will support the development of digital capability, information literacy, assistive technology, and emerging areas such as AI literacy, embedding these skills within the curriculum and wider student experience.
You will primarily support students studying Business and Computer & Data Science programmes, many of whom are international students undertaking professionally focused courses. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working with diverse learners and helping students navigate new academic, digital, and professional expectations.
We are not looking for someone who already knows every system or application. We provide support and opportunities for development, so the ability to learn, adapt, and troubleshoot confidently is far more important than existing expertise in a particular technology. We are particularly interested in candidates who are curious about digital tools, enjoy exploring solutions to challenges, and can explain technical concepts in ways that are clear, practical, and accessible.
Alongside teaching workshops and tutorials, you will develop high-quality digital learning resources, work collaboratively with colleagues to identify needs and improve support, and contribute to a culture of inclusive and effective digital learning across the University.
You will also have opportunities to contribute to wider University initiatives around inclusive education, accessibility, AI literacy, digital capability, and sustainable futures, alongside supported continuing professional development and professional engagement.
