Job summary

De Montfort University seeks a skilled Digital Textile Print Technician to support students, academics and researchers within our textile facilities. You will operate and maintain Mimaki printers, provide demonstrations and technical support, and manage bookings and records.

The role focuses on safe, high-quality textile printing, teaching and project support, with opportunities to contribute to outreach and wider technical services activities.

Qualifications

• HND or substantial practical experience in a related field.
• Experience operating large-format Mimaki textile printers and digital print software.
• Excellent technical skills and strong attention to detail.
• Experience in workshop, studio or technical environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical information to users.
• Commitment to high standards of service, safety and customer support.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain large-format Mimaki digital textile printers and software.
• Support students and staff with fabric printing and textile production processes.
• Demonstrate equipment, techniques and workflows.
• Manage print bookings and production records.
• Assist with workshop prep, equipment maintenance and stock control.
• Promote safe working practices and COSHH compliance.
• Support open days and outreach activities.
