Job summary

Norwich University of the Arts is seeking an Associate Technician to support students in our printmaking studios and contribute to the day-to-day operation of the Technical Services team. The role requires experience with screenprint, drypoint, linocut and monoprint, and a strong knowledge of printmaking materials and workshop practices, including preparing artwork for print production in Adobe Photoshop.

Our printmaking studios are at the heart of this creative environment, supporting students from Fine Art, Illustration and Graphic Design to explore a wide range of traditional and contemporary print processes. From screenprint and relief printing to digital workflows and experimental approaches, our workshops provide the space, equipment and expertise that help students develop their practice and realise ambitious projects.

We're looking for a talented and enthusiastic printmaker to join our Technical Services team. As an Associate Technician, you will support students to use professional printmaking equipment and techniques, contribute to the day-to-day operation of the studios, and support teaching, learning and research activities across the University. You will bring experience of screenprint, drypoint, linocut and monoprint processes, together with a strong knowledge of printmaking materials, equipment and workshop practices, including the use of Adobe Photoshop to prepare artwork for print production.

Working closely with students and academic colleagues, you'll provide technical guidance, champion safe working practices, and help students develop confidence in both traditional and digital printmaking methods. Above all, we're looking for a passionate and motivated practitioner who enjoys sharing their expertise, encouraging experimentation, and helping students realise ambitious creative projects.

Term-time only

34 hours per week for 30 weeks per year

Salary: £16,992.42 per annum. Pro-rated from a full-time equivalent salary of £27,319 per annum.
